What a home eye test cannot do
We evaluate refractive error, visual acuity, pupillary distance, and screen for obvious red flags requiring medical attention. We do not diagnose underlying retinal diseases, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy. If our Eye Pro identifies any clinical abnormality, they will transparently refer you to an ophthalmologist.
Frequently asked questions
How much space do I need for the test?
A standard room with about 3 metres (10 feet) of clear walking distance and good natural or ceiling lighting is ideal. The Eye Pro sets up the illuminated chart at one end.
Can you test children at home?
Yes! Our Eye Pros are trained to examine children aged 5 and older using pediatric charts and gentle retinoscopy techniques.
Do I have to buy glasses after the test?
Never. You receive a verified digital copy of your 15-check prescription in your Specsy app vault immediately. You are free to buy today, later, or not at all.
